What To Do in Kelowna this Halloween Weekend

It’s that spooky time of year again, when the stores are stocked with candy, and costumes are encouraged. Every year, McKinley Beach runs the Creepy-Kelowna Contest; an online Halloween Costume Contest; but there are lots of other events to sink your teeth into this weekend in Kelowna. If you’re looking for something to do, we recommend the following:

The Creepy-Kelowna Contest 3: Scary Selfies

When: October 26th – November 4th

Where: On the McKinley Beach Facebook Page

‘The Creepy-Kelowna Contest 3: Scary Selfies’ is an annual McKinley Beach tradition that we run on our Facebook page. Entrants need only to comment with their Halloween Costume picture entries into the comments section of the contest post. Great prizes in the form of downtown Kelowna restaurant gift cards are up for grabs!

 

Spooktacular Halloween Candy and Wine Pairing

When: Saturday October 29th & Sunday October 30th, 11:00am – 6:30pm

Where: The View Winery at 2287 Ward Road, East Kelowna

This Halloween themed candy and wine pairing event runs on both Saturday and Sunday. Here you can experience the unique pairing of sweet treats with The View’s wines and ciders. They’re also giving away gifts to any adults that show up in costume.

 

Kelowna Corn Maze

When: Saturday October 29th & Sunday October 30th, Starting at 12:30pm

Where: 575 Valley Road, Kelowna (Glenmore area)

This yearly Halloween corn maze has been in operation since 2010. Daytime and nighttime tours are available of the 3 acre maze featuring 15 scary displays throughout. At night, there’s a fire pit and concessions available. Fun for the whole family!

 

Halloween Spooktacular

When: Saturday October 29th, 6:00pm – 8:30pm

Where: Kelowna Family Y, 375 Hartman Road, Kelowna

If you’re looking for an awesome kid-friendly event, the Kelowna Family Y is offering a great Halloween event featuring creepy crafts, pumpkin carving, spooky activities, and a costume contest! Entry is free.

 

Okanagan Roller Derby – Halloween Bout

When: Saturday October 29th, doors open at 6:30pm

Where: Sunplex Sports Arena, 1155 Ellis Street, Kelowna

With the sport of Roller Derby becoming more and more popular every year, the local teams like to end their season with a Halloween bout full of fun costumes and awesome roller derby action! This family-friendly event makes for a great night of entertainment for all. Take a non-perishable food item for the Kelowna Food Bank and be entered to win league merchandise. Adults can also check out the after party at Creekside Pub after the bout.
